Star Learners of the Week (14th October 2009)
1LS Molly Hawxwell For using her imagination to describe a familiar setting.  She used creative similes to describe a swimming pool.
2KB Aaliyah Morgan For using her imagination to write some beautiful similes to describe the swimming pool.  She included verbs, adjectives and adverbs in her writing.
3LC Tyler Clapp For using adjectives and similes in his writing, showing that he can use what he has learned in class.
4RS Kerys Moxham For using her imagination when writing a list of items to go in her sarcophagus.
5HK Jacob Arendse For working independently to check his calculations in maths.  He showed a fantastic knowledge of using inverse operations.
7SK Brooke Stell For being an expert during music lessons.  Excellent glockenspiel playing and demonstrating to the rest of the class.
8JC Megan Baker For completing work outside of school.  She missed some of the lesson so she designed her own maths investigation at home.
9SH Toby Hall For working hard in numeracy lessons and solving a range of addition problems using the column method.
10BK Jake Turnbull For using his imagination when writing a paragraph from the point of view of a character in an illustration.  His writing made the character “real”.
11LR James Douglass For using his imagination and links to prior knowledge to write a descriptive paragraph predicting the next part of the Rose Blanche story.
