Ofsted Report

Dear Parents and Carers

Ofsted Report - Elson Junior’s is a Good School with Outstanding Features

We are sending out the full report via e-mail to those of you who subscribe, and by hard copy to all other families. It is also available on our Web Site here. I am sure that you will all be pleased with Ofsted’s findings. The inspection process was very thorough and took account of everyone’s views.

The report gives a very accurate picture of your school; that Elson Juniors is a good school with outstanding features. This is the result of a tremendous joint effort from families, children, the staff and Governors over the past years, along with the support from Hampshire County Council.  You should be very proud of your children; the children’s behaviour and the way they contribute to the school and wider community was judged to be outstanding.

The inspectors observed many outstanding lessons and could clearly see that the teaching ensured the standard of work was good throughout the school. They could also see that the recent improvement to our SATs results is set to continue as a result of an outstanding curriculum and leadership of teaching and learning.

We are absolutely delighted with the report and remain committed to continued improvement; we aim to make the school outstanding in every way. The Governors also received an ‘outstanding’ judgement for their role and their work continues to ensure the best possible education for the children of Elson. Thank you for your part in the whole process, those of you who gave up time to talk to the inspectors or to give them your views.

If you would like to discuss the report with Headteacher or Governor please contact the school office to make an appointment

Yours sincerely
